Bonus Building company offers plastic foam for insulation. Nowadays our products are of the highest quality in the local market and those are not just words. The production is organized on a large scale, delivery and maintenance will save you from unnecessary expenses.
Expanded polystyrene, or EPS, is a lightweight and compact heating material based on polystyrene. EPS is one of the most effective insulating materials at a ratio of price and quality. Plates are lightweight, easy to work with them and they do not lose their qualities and do not deform during long period of time, while at the same time they are very durable. EPS insulation material is used as the construction of new facilities and for renovation of old ones. With the EPS material one can insulate the building from the basement to the roof.
EPS material consists of 98% of stationary air enclosed in its closed-cell structure. Static air is the best natural heat insulator. The consistance of polystyrene in plastic is only 2% and this combination provides EPS with insulating properties. Moreover, insulating properties EPS boards stored in both moist conditions and at low temperatures.
When choosing a foam it is important to consider the climatic conditions of the region where the house is located, the size of the object and the material from which it is built. Foam is characterized in two ways - thickness and density which immediately affects the thermal conductivity. Thus, the optimum thickness of the foam for insulating should be 50 millimeters with a density of 25 kilograms per cubic meter. These data provide an efficient service and high quality insulation material for building. However, they are not unbreakable norms.
The basic qualities of Styrofoam
The material is produced, used and disposed without harming the environment and health. Expanded polystyrene is 100% reusable, the most clean and safe heat-insulating material. It is used as a packaging material for food, toys and etc.
Polystyrene consists of 98% air. Static air is the best natural heat insulator. The content of polystyrene plastic in the material is only 2% and this combination provides plates PSB-S with essential insulating properties. Moreover polystyrene retains insulation properties in wet conditions and at low temperatures as well.
Using polystyrene plates PSB-S for insulation there is no need for additional materials for wind protection. Furthermore, those place plates improve sound insulation.
Insulation boards PSB-S is not hygroscopic. Moisture absorbency is significantly lower than that of mineral wool. Even with prolonged immersion in water PSB-S plates absorb only a few percent of the water, it allows to use them for insulation of foundations.
High resistance to stress
Short-term and long-term resistance to stress is one of the most important properties of polystyrene foam. And it is considerably higher than that of mineral wool.
Saving dimensionally stable
Insulation PSB-S remains stable in the building structure, and keeps it shape for a long time: it does not shrink or moves in construction.
Insulation properties of the PSB-S does not deteriorate during the lifetime of the structure. Minimum moisture absorbency of the material ensures the resistance to stress and heat insulating ability in wet conditions. Polystyrene does not form on its surface good conditions for microorganisms.
The low weight of PSB-S polystyrene plates are convenient and easy to use, they can easily be cut to the desired size using simple tools. The most important factor for engineer is when using polystyrene no special protection is: it is not toxic, odorless, does not emit dust during processing, does not cause skin irritation.
All PSB-S insulation plates are made of materials containing fire retardant that meet the requirements of GOST 15588-86. Operating temperature of polystyrene is from -200 ° C to +85 ° C.
Resistance to environmental conditions
Polystyrene (polystyrene) has a property of high resistance to various chemicals, mainly to saline solutions, alkali, acid anhydride, soaps and diluted acid, salt water, bitumen, fertilizer, water soluble dyes, alcohols, silicone oils. Does not interact with such building materials as lime, concrete, plaster, cement, sand, etc. Still, under the influence of organic solvents, bitumen solutions, polystyrene is partially decomposed. PSB-S does not swell or dissolve in water, resistant to rot, does not absorb moisture and is durable. It should be noted that unlike the brick and concrete foam is exposed to termites and rodents therefore all protective facilities should be used when installing foam. With all those qualities foam (Styrofoam) is suitable for different types of constructions, such as an industrial plant, as well as houses. Styrofoam plates can withstand temperatures above +100 C °, allowing, for example, to work with the foam and hot bitumen.
