Expanded polystyrene, or EPS, is a lightweight and compact heating material based on polystyrene. EPS is one of the most effective insulating materials at a ratio of price and quality. Plates are lightweight, easy to work with them and they do not lose their qualities and do not deform during long period of time, while at the same time they are very durable. EPS insulation material is used as the construction of new facilities and for renovation of old ones. With the EPS material one can insulate the building from the basement to the roof.

EPS material consists of 98% of stationary air enclosed in its closed-cell structure. Static air is the best natural heat insulator. The consistance of polystyrene in plastic is only 2% and this combination provides EPS with insulating properties. Insulation properties of the PSB-S does not deteriorate during the lifetime of the structure. Minimum moisture absorbency of the material ensures the resistance to stress and heat insulating ability in wet conditions. Polystyrene does not form on its surface good conditions for microorganisms.




Easy usage

Inflammability


All PSB-S insulation plates are made of materials containing fire retardant that meet the requirements of GOST 15588-86. Operating temperature of polystyrene is from -200 ° C to +85 ° C.


 

Resistance to environmental conditions

 

Polystyrene (polystyrene) has a property of high resistance to various chemicals, mainly to saline solutions, alkali, acid anhydride, soaps and diluted acid, salt water, bitumen, fertilizer, water soluble dyes, alcohols, silicone oils. Does not interact with such building materials as lime, concrete, plaster, cement, sand, etc. Still, under the influence of organic solvents, bitumen solutions, polystyrene is partially decomposed. PSB-S does not swell or dissolve in water, resistant to rot, does not absorb moisture and is durable. It should be noted that unlike the brick and concrete foam is exposed to termites and rodents therefore all protective facilities should be used when installing foam. With all those qualities foam (Styrofoam) is suitable for different types of constructions, such as an industrial plant, as well as houses. Styrofoam plates can withstand temperatures above +100 C °, allowing, for example, to work with the foam and hot bitumen.
