Rules of transportation and storage of galvanized sheet

 

 

Galvanized sheets, profiled and pre-painted profiled sheets are transported by any vehicle in accordance with the rules of transportation.

 

Galvanized sheet is recommended to carry on wooden pallets with a total weight of thickness up to 5 tons per tray. On each tray it should be installed sheets of the same length and thickness. To preserve the integrity of the bundle of sheets it is necessary to tie them up with metal strips. With proper packaging galvanized sheets are not exposed to deformation and damage during transportation.

If the unloading of galvanized sheets will be produced by a loader, then packs of sheets must be pre-stacked on wooden lining. The length of such linings must be larger than overall size of the tray. While unloading galvanized sheets it is impiortant to pay attention to protective layer of the sheet, otherwise corrosion may occur when using such sheet.

When transporting trays of galvanized sheets they are not allowed to be transported in several tiers.

When transporting galvanized sheets at a distance of over 200 km it is not allowed to carry them in open transport. Otherwise, the negative impact of harsh weather is inevitable. The most dangerous is the moisture between the zinc sheets on a tray. Wet sheets tend to damage the layer and bring to corosion.

To prevent the ingress of moisture between the zinc sheets they must be transported in closed transport or packed with special protective film.

When storing galvanized sheets it is permitted to lay sheets in two or more layers if only the the mass of the upper tier will not exceed five tonnes.
